Happy Halloween!

This us at Nick and Kim's Halloween party. Don't mind the look on my face...it was the only one were everyone was at least facing the camera! Before our ward trunk or treat. Carter has decided that he officially doesn't like pictures anymore so it's quite fun to try to take one of him!

After a year full of being sick and having strep throat for three months my ENT Doctor said it was time to get my tonsils and adenoids removed. I was really nervous because for one, I've never had surgery before and two, he said it would be a two week recovery time..yikes!
But it had to be done. So on Monday the 25th I had the surgery. It's been difficult to say the least. I've always been somewhat of a control freak and I feel completely out of control. I've been in a lot of pain, had a swollen throat (with not much of a voice), been very sleepy and have been throwing up (either from the anesthesia and/or pain pills). So, it's been a very slow go, I still don't have very much energy and haven't been able to eat a real meal yet.

It's been hard on my kids not having Mom up to par, so I tried my best to be a part of Halloween despite being so miserable.

Anyway enough of that I hope everyone had a great Halloween!!!

Gardner's Village

On Saturday I went to Gardner's Village with my sister's Shauna and Mikka. It was very rainy and cold. Plus, I had forgotten that you couldn't take stroller's in to the shops, so I ended up packing Carter around everywhere to prevent a catastrophe. But getting to have a fun day with my sister's made it worth it!

The kids had a great time. We ended up coming over to my house afterward to play games and hang out. And that was a blast, good times! Mikka and Nick came down from Idaho, it was great to see them. And we hope it's not too long before we see them again.

Kangaroo Zoo

Last week Ben took a half day and we went to the Kangaroo Zoo in SLC. It's a really fun place that has a whole bunch of bouncy things for the kids to play on. The kids were crazy we couldn't even keep up with them, they were going from one to another!!!

The weight limit was 150 lbs. Ben magically lost some weight that day, so he could go on! He, he!!! Jump, jump, jump!!!

We had a fabulous time and we'll be going there again soon!

Then we decided to go the new IN-N-OUT burger in Centerville. It was really busy but very delicious!!! Gotta love their hats too!

This last week Brylee has been practicing every night for her "Hairspray" performance at half time for Roy High's football game on Friday night. It's a fun thing the Roy High drill team does for the girls, and one of my sweet Mia Maids, Riley, signed her up!

Boston's catch

On Friday we decided to split up the fam and do boys and girls nights. Me and Brylee went shopping at the Mall and got Slurpee's. And Ben, Boston and Carter rode bike's over to the Roy pond to go fishing. He called me and asked if when I got home I would grab the camera and come over because Boston got a nice catfish all by himself! Good job Buddy!!! By the time I got over there it was dark, but the boys had so much fun anyway. Boston was so proud of himself, it was really cute. I love, LOVE, LOVE his face!

Goodbye my binky boy

It has been a very long week....sigh. I don't think I knew how much Carter loved his binky until stopped giving it to him. He's good until he gets sleepy then he wants the comfort of it. We've had MANY, LONG tantrums...at least a couple a day. I do feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel though, they're not as long and often anymore. He's starting to get the drift that he's not getting it back, I hope!
I even was so desperate, for the first time, that I cut the nipple off a couple of his binkies. Then he just walked around saying (in his own words) Mama, broke...fix it, fix it. All of my boys have had binkies (Bry was my thumb sucker) and he has been the hardest to wean from it. Maybe I baby him more because he's my last, boy am I sure paying for that now!!!I love this picture, he always had his binky and blanky at sleepy time. I took this because I thought it was so cute that he was snuggling with Brylee's baby.

A toothless smile

Brylee lost her first tooth today! Last night I was flossing her teeth and I noticed she had a pretty wiggly tooth. I asked her, "did you know your tooth was loose"? She said, "it is" ?!? Silly girl! She's usually quite aware of ALL things, so I found it pretty funny that she didn't notice. After much anticipation and wiggling it came out this morning. She is SUPER excited for the tooth fairy to come and could hardly wait to go to bed tonight! Here is her little tooth...squint hard! She does have a cute toothless smile! But I don't know if I'm ready for her to be this grown up yet...sigh.

Our new obsession

Because Brylee learned to ride her bike without training wheels and because we enjoyed our little walk last weekend so much, we decided to try a bike ride at the walkway this weekend. We borrowed my in-laws bikes for me and Ben and my brother-in-laws bike trailer for the little boys. It was a success, we had a blast! We ended up going to the 21st street pond from Riverdale. It was a 8 mile round trip, but it didn't seem that far on bikes. The kids were perfect, they enjoyed it so much they didn't complain once!

In fact we had so much fun we decided to get Boston a bike. He loves it!
He was having some trouble getting the idea of keeping his feet on the pedals and he kept stopping to readjust his footing. So me and Logan had this idea to duct tape his feet (totally redneck I know) but it worked like a charm! He rode smooth after that, he still wants me to tape his feet every time he gets on though...we'll have to work on that.

Since Boston got the hang of his bike, Chewy got to take his place on the next ride in the bike trailer. Fun, fun, fun...I love spending time with my family!!!

Hooray for Brylee!

I'm so proud of her, she's not quite as adventurous as the boys are. She was really scared at first. But after of a couple of days she is a pro!

I'll have to give most the credit to Ben he was really patient and persistent with her.

Boston's stitches...Round 2

What was supposed to be a fun evening at the Riverdale Parkway turned in to a night at Urgent Care. Boston crashed on his scooter and unfortunately caught himself with his forehead. There was tons of blood and luckily I didn't see how bad it was (thanks to Ben carrying him the whole way) until we got back to the car. It helped me not to freak out too bad, cause I tend to do that in these kind of situations. I am getting a little better at them though, thanks to some busy boys. Not even two months ago Logan broke his collar bone then Carter split his chin open at my sister's wedding and 10 months ago Boston had stitches in the same eyebrow. With three boys I think I'll have my fare share to come in the future too!
Boston did so good, he acted so big this time he only cried when they gave him the shot to numb it. Which made me cry too...mother's instinct, I guess! To get him to calm down the nurse asked him what happened and Boston proceeded to tell her the story amongst many others for 10 minutes straight (I had to remind him to breath in between words) while the Doctor stitched him. While the Dr. was finishing up, as you can see in the picture below, he was so famished he decided to take a little nap.

Ahh, this little guy is one of a kind, I sure do love him. 17 stitches. 4 under the skin in his muscle and 13 on top. And a black eye to boot. What a trooper.

He did get a buzz lightyear toy he's been asking for. Not the way he planned on getting it but happy nonetheless!

I love you my big hearted, bruiser, bulldozer (and as Quinn would say) Bostonator! Please don't give me anymore scares...at least for a while!

Riverdale Parkway

Last night we decided to let the kids ride their scooters at the parkway. Here is a cute picture I snapped of them. Shortly after this Boston somehow managed to crash on his scooter and cut his forehead open. We ended up spending the rest of our evening at Urgent Care.

We decided to resume our trip this morning since we didn't really get very far before the catastrophe the night before. Boston opted out of riding his scooter, I don't blame him at all!

This is an old railroad bridge built in 1906 kind of cool . When we went underneath it, it had the creepiest looking spiders everywhere....GROSS!

It was such a beautiful and peaceful place. We've agreed we'll be going back as often as we can!
