Carter's birth story ( 6 mo. late!)

I've never posted Carter's birth story and because I use this blog mostly for a journal I am going to post it now. So if you've heard it already just past this post by!

Labor started with Carter the night of the 13th, I had to go get Ben from the airport. He was flying home from working in Vegas. On the way down I was having regular contractions about every 7-8 min. They weren't getting worse but were consistent. We didn't get home until 11pm and even though I was pretty sure I was in labor I didn't want to get a babysitter that late at night. I figured if it got more intense it would wake me up and we would figure something out at that point. Well I ended up making it through the night and they were still consistent but not horrible. So we packed the kids bags and took them up to my sister Shauna's house. We went to eat at Bajio's for final meal and then walked vigorously around the hospital walkway to get them closer so they would keep me. When we got up to the hospital around 1:30pm I was dilated to a 4 and 80% effaced. I was 20 days early but I had Brylee and Boston 19 days early so the doctor decided to started me on pitocin. We got all set up in the room around 3pm and waited. Ben gave me a really special blessing and we could both feel the spirit there. Then we got to enjoy our pretty view and sunshine from our room. It always takes me a little bit to get past a 4 but when I go I go. They checked me at 6:45 and I was at a 5 so they were going to put in a cervical thing to check my contractions that way to see why I wasn't progressing. So they went to get it and 15 min later I was a 10! Crazy huh the nurse didn't believe it so she checked me too! I told you I go fast! By the time the doctor got there the baby started to have some stress so I started pushing and he came out after 5 pushes with the cord wrapped around his neck twice. That was why he was under stress and it REALLY scared us! While I was pushing it was pretty intense because everyone was really quite and were watching the monitors for stress. But I was SO glad to see my little boy healthy! He weighed 7lbs 8 0z and was 20 1/2 in long. He's 6 months now and I can't imagine not having him I love him so much!
